To harness the potential of this tool,
Himachal Pradesh Remote Sensing Cell (RSC) was established in 1989
with following objectives:
- To create centralized facilities and infrastructure by obtaining
satellite data, interpretation aids and ancillary collateral data
for the use of potential users.
- To create an effective information centre based on aerospace
data encompassing different themes for the use of geographical
information system in planning process.
- To provide assistance to user agencies and institutions in
the field on Remote Sensing inputs.
- To impart training and education in the use of space technology
and natural resource management.
