Remote Sensing Cell for Himachal Pradesh

To harness the potential of this tool, Himachal Pradesh Remote Sensing Cell (RSC) was established in 1989 with following objectives:
  1. To create centralized facilities and infrastructure by obtaining satellite data, interpretation aids and ancillary collateral data for the use of potential users.
  2. To create an effective information centre based on aerospace data encompassing different themes for the use of geographical information system in planning process.
  3. To provide assistance to user agencies and institutions in the field on Remote Sensing inputs.
  4. To impart training and education in the use of space technology and natural resource management.
